"The Love for the Elderly"

Scratchboard
70 x 46 cm.  (27.5" x 18")

This is a famous image of His Majesty showing his love and concern for the elders in Thailand.
He was visiting a small village in a remote area and this old woman came to pay respect with some simple flowers but The King also showed respect for the old woman. I choose to develop an original technique using scratchboard for this picture. Scratchboard
is black and the images are scratched through the surface to the white board underneath.
One mistake and the picture is ruined. It is a difficult but rewarding medium in which to create
a picture as it has almost magical effect.
