| Taveepong Limmakorn
Taveepong Limmakorn is a native of southern Thailand. He was born in Hat Yai and later settled in Phuket.
He completed his secondary education at Saengthong Vittaya School, Hatyai, and higher education at Maur Hill Prep School Atchison Kansas; going on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts and Master in Design with honors in Art and Design from Kansas University in Lawrence, USA. He also holds an Honorary Doctorate in Art and Design from RMUTT Thanyaburi, Bangkok. Taveepong has been the designer, painter, illustrator and author of more than 15 publications and was selected by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Department of ASEAN Affairs to paint a collection of watercolours for the publication ASEAN Portrait of a Community', which was presented as government gifts to 10 ASEAN leaders at the 15th ASEAN Summit, Hua Hin, Thailand in 2009. His ASEAN paintings were exhibited in the reception hall of the Grand Ballroom where the ASEAN leaders were welcomed. Taveepong is a versatile master artist in all mediums. His creative skills also extend to paper engineering creating Thailand's first intricate pop-up books. His works have received high praise from prestigious Thai and international art associations and he has received more than 50 art awards in his half century of artistic achievements.
Taveepong Limmakorn-an artist distinguished and eminent style-has devoted himself to creating an diverse artistic fields. He has shared his expertise through numerous academic books on drawing techniques and design, used both in educational institutions and by the general public. His artistic vision is further reflected in his paintings created to honor his homeland, promote Thai arts and culture, and pay tribute to the monarchy.Throughout his career, he has produced a wide range of works that have earned international and national acclaim, winning top awards and bringing global recognition to his name. His achievements have been widely acknowledged, culminating being honored as a "Phuket Master Artist" in 2024. |
